Material Rigor
We weigh acetate, count hinge barrels, and measure polish depth. A frame is an object before it is an accessory, and objects are judged by what they are made of.
About the Journal
Sunglasstest began with a simple irritation: eyewear coverage was either advertising or afterthought. Frames costing hundreds of dollars were reviewed in ninety seconds, on camera, by people who had worn them once.
We do the opposite. Every frame we cover is worn for weeks, measured in millimetres, and judged against our three principles. No sponsored placements, no unboxings, no urgency. Just eyewear, taken seriously.
The Manifesto
We weigh acetate, count hinge barrels, and measure polish depth. A frame is an object before it is an accessory, and objects are judged by what they are made of.
UV400 is a floor, not a feature. We test distortion at the wrap edge, contrast at midday, and coatings after ninety days — not ninety seconds at a counter.
Trend cycles last a season; a silhouette can last a century. We cover what endures, and treat novelty as a footnote rather than a headline.
